This is a summary of some of the things we've been talking about:
Marina City is a pair of 60-story circular towers located on the Chicago River in downtown Chicago. The towers were designed by architect Bertrand Goldberg and completed in 1964, and were some of the tallest residential buildings at the time. There are 896 apartments in the towers, many with balconies that offer great views of the river and city skyline. Marina City is known for its unique appearance, which resembles ears of corn due to the circular concrete, glass, and metal exterior.
Shape: The two towers of Marina City are cylindrical in shape, each standing at a height of 587 feet with 60 floors. Each tower has its own parking garage and dock for residents to park their boats.
Color: Marina City's is a bright yellow color, making it easily recognizable
Windows: The tower's windows have a radial design, giving Marina City a distinctive appearance. This design also allows each resident to enjoy exceptional views.
The Blues Brothers: Marina City is where Multiple scenes in the film were shot in Marina City, including their apartment and nearby streets.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off: In this 1986 coming-of-age film, lives in one of the Marina City apartments. Multiple scenes in the film were shot in Marina City, including one where they throw antique cars from the top floor of their apartment.
The Hunter: Bounty Hunter, Steve McQueen's main character in the 1980 action film, also lives in one of the Marina City apartments. Some scenes in the film were also shot in Marina City.
Apartments: Marina City has nearly 900 residential units, including studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments. These apartments are equipped with modern facilities and furniture, and offer stunning views of the Chicago downtown and the Chicago River.
Parking garage: Both towers of Marina City have their own parking garages, totaling 900 parking spaces. Residents can rent a parking spot.
Shops and restaurants: Marina City has multiple shops and restaurants, including the Aquarium bar, McDonald's, Oatmeal Cafe, Market restaurant, and pizza parlor.
Fitness center: Marina City has a modern fitness center equipped with cardio machines, weight machines, and yoga studio, etc.
Swimming pool: Marina City has an indoor swimming pool and an outdoor sun terrace for residents to use.
Theater: Marina City has a movie theater and a musical theater for residents and the public to watch movies and performances.
