The towers were designed by architect Bertrand Goldberg and completed in 1964, and were some of the tallest residential buildings at the time. There are 896 apartments in the towers, many with balconies that offer great views of the river and city skyline. Marina City is known for its unique appearance, which resembles ears of corn due to the circular concrete, glass, and metal exterior.  Shape: The two towers of Marina City are cylindrical in shape, each standing at a height of 587 feet with 60 floors.
